Hair Recipe for Growth!

This recipe is simple, easy to make, and most importantly, it WORKS! Here it is:

* 4 to 5oz EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil)
* 2 tablespoons Cayenne Pepper

Add both ingredients to a squirt bottle (one with a nozzle) and shake before use. Apply and massage into scalp the night before washing your hair.

Stimulates growth like you wouldn’t believe. Please NOTE, the cayenne pepper will REALLY make your scalp tingle so don’t be alarmed b/c that’s what it is supposed to do! Also, take caution when rinsing this mixture out of your hair. If it gets into your eyes, it WILL sting. I simply close my eyes when rinsing it out and open them once it’s all rinsed completely out of my hair. Unless you're that good, I guarantee you will forget this your first try at this and it will get in your eyes and it will sting. LOL. But you will learn quickly!

As with any hair growth stimulants, CONSISTENCY is the key and the only way you will receive results. Don't expect to see results right away. You should start to see results in about 4 weeks if you use it CONSISTENTLY, some see results sooner than that. Give it a try and after 4 weeks share your results! Or if you use this now or used to, share your comments! Stay blessed and beautiful.

On the Wish List: Conair Compact Double Head Epilator

A recent add to my beauty wish list. I'm tired of shaving 24/7 but don't have the funds to go for frequent waxes at this point in my life either so I'm ready to give one of these suckers a try. I have an average threshold for pain so I think I'll be alright using this kind of hair remover. This brand and model gets pretty good reviews on Amazon and Walmart and will run you about $60. But the fact that you don't have to shave 24/7 thus buying razors 24/7 or go for waxes, you will def get your money's worth and then some. A money saver and more convenient. Have any of you used them? Please share your experiences if you have.

ACV-Apple Cider Vinegar

I originally heard of the concept on LHCF-Long Hair Care Forum but I didn't really consider trying it till I saw a post on ManeandChic and then I became intrigued. I’ve been cleansing my hair and scalp this way for a couple months now. I’m officially sprung and have left shampoo for it. Apple cider vinegar removes any product build up and gunk in your hair like a MUTHA. It brings hair back to its normal pH so it is a great way to follow up neutralizing and conditioning hair (Note. What I am saying is neutralize and condition your hair FIRST after a relaxer sevice and than you can do this as a rinse.) that has just received a chemical service like a relaxer. Another great thing it does is that it helps seal your cuticles and adds shine to your hair and who doesn’t like that? I like it b/c not only is it a completely green way to cleanse your scalp and hair but it’s not drying like shampoos can be and is also known to aid in stimulating hair growth.

Here’s how I suggest you give it a try: After washing and conditioning, apply a mixture of 1 part ACV to 4 parts water to your scalp and hair. I pour it on diff areas of my head first, massage it in and then dump the rest over my head with my head titled BACK so as little of it drips down my face. If some does, just make sure you rinse your face good with water before you open your eyes or it will sting! Lightly massage it in some more and let it sit for 1 to 2 mins. Please note: it will sting if it gets in your eyes so be careful! When I’m applying it to my hair, I make sure to close my eyes. While it’s sitting, I wash up in the shower. When I’m done with that, I rinse the ACV out and proceed with my drying regimen.

The smell is strong but it does go away once your hair has completely dried. So give it a try. It’s very beneficial, natural, green, non-hazardous, cheap and makes your hair look and feel fab. It can be found your local grocery or health food store. You just might join me and replace your shampoo with it too!

Product Review: The Body Shop Nature's Minerals Foundation spf 25

I have sensitive skin that's oily and my cult favorite foundation powder, MAC Studio Fix, had started making my skin breakout like crazy once the fall hit. I had been using it for about 2 years with no problems but up until recently, my face doesn't like it anymore so I had to find something else. On my quest to be more GREEN, I decided to go for a mineral make up that was preservative free and had ingredients that weren't hazardous to my health so I decided to try this one:

The Body Shop Nature's Minerals Foundation. It's spf 25 and feels weightless on your skin. It gives a light to moderate coverage and in pictures it looks like my skin is GLOWING! Now I'm really in luv. So if you want to try a mineral foundation or you're looking for a GREEN foundation alternative that's less hazardous to the earth and your body, I highly recommend this one. They come in six shades. Shade 01 being the lightest. I'm the darkest shade, 06, and let me tell you; these shades can cover a wide range of skin tones. Some sistas that are darker than me can still rock the same shade! So go to your local The Body Shop and try them out. I recommend you get this brush for application of the foundation. It's soooo soft soft, uber dense and applies it like a DREAM. For all you PETA fans, you'll also be glad to know that it's cruelty-free; made with only synthetic fibers. :0)

Transitioning Regimen

You must find what works for you but here's what's working for me on my quest to curly land:

* Moisturize with homemade moisturizing spritz daily

* Apply Bee Mine Hair Growth Serum to scalp every other night before bed

* Apply and massage EVOO and cayenne pepper mix into my scalp the night before wash day

* Co-wash once a week

* Cleanse hair once a week with apple cider vinegar mix (1 part ACV to 4 parts water)

* DC once a week on dry hair before washing hair

* Everyday style: falls/half-wigs

Simple right? And that's how I like it. ;0)

Transition Month #6: Half-Wiggin It

Took the braids out last month and they took out a chunk of my hair line on the right side. :0( So needless to say, no more micros for me. However, I received great growth from the braids though. So to keep with leaving my hair alone, I'm rocking falls aka half wigs now. You can never have a bad hair day with these things! I only have one right now; this one below.

But I will be growing my collection. So for any transitioners or those thinking about it, here's another transitioning option. Of course anybody else can rock them too if you want a quick style change. Have fun! I know am! For more pics of my hair during my transition (and before then) check out my fotki
