I posted a video about this very thing. I honestly don't know why it is happening to you. I use mine all the time and it just doesn't dry my hair. It probably would if I didn't seal with shea butter. Shea butter is used to weather proof wood in Africa. How can anything get through that? It doesn't on my hair. I did search for a solution because all the hoopla had me scared. My video shows how to use a simple humidifier/vaporizer to keep you air moist. It is great because it is just good in general to have some humidity in the air for breathing and for glowing, soft supple skin.

I've read that, too. But I have yet to feel a real difference here. I live in Salt Lake City now, and the winters are definitely different than California!

I still use glycerin mists, but only before I go to bed. I don't know, when I couple it with Shea butter, my hair feels moisturized throughout the day.

Wait, I take that back. My hair feels frozen when I'm outside for a long period of time, but once my hair "melts" inside, it is back to normal.

You can still use them. Here's a trick I learn. After applying my products I turn the shower on and the steam allows the glycerin to pull the moisture. Works like a charm. If I don't feel like doing that I make sure I still my KBB hair milk with a heavy oil like castor oil.

I'm stationed in Vegas and it gets cold but not as cold as where home is Wisconsin, but it is still dry so what I try to do is spray my hair before I get in the shower and use the moisture from the shower so when I go out the glycerin doesn't make my hair hard and crunchy and this works for me.

I don't wear my hair out all the time, but the few times I did I noticed quickly. I read something similar about glycerin as well and I actually tested it out. So i have it at the back of my stash until April. Currently I'm in a protective style, but I will eventually need to figure out a winter fix.

I also had to make big changes...none of my leave-ins or butters can have glycerin. Since I switched it has made a huge differnce.
