Weekend in DC

So I went to Washington DC this past weekend to see the opening of the "Quilts for Obama: An Exhibit Celebrating the Inauguration of our 44th President" exhibit. It opened on Sunday, January 11th at the Washington Historic Society. As you can see, I was rocking the red, white, and blue in my own way. Only 44 quilters were selected to create a piece for this and my mommy was one of them! Needless to say, my family and I are really excited as she is adding to history. And this is a huuuuge honor. It was so much fun hanging out in DC and it was good to see my parents and other family members again so soon.

To see more of my mom's work (and purchase block patterns if you quilt, are interested in quilting or know someone that is), you can check out her website at www.MivaDesigns.com. To learn about the inspiration behind her Obama quilt, check out her blog at: fabricsfibers-n-threads.blogspot.com.

Stay blessed and beautiful!
