Green & Chic: The Flyyest Way to Drink Your Water

Most of us have received the memo that the plastic bottles we drink water from, are not eco-friendly. Most of them end up in landfills and if you didn't know, plastic is practically incapable of decomposing. I mean, it's outliving your deceased great grandpa. And he might have died back in the '70s. Yikes! So they pose a real problem when it comes to the environment and waste management.

So what's a more eco-chic way to still drink your recommended 64oz of water a day and help de-clutter our beloved Mother Earth? The answer my AGCMers is aluminum water bottles. They're sturdy, last a long time, don't add to pollution, and come in some really cute designs to match your personality and/or style.

You save so much more money buying a water filter for better water, especially to drink it. I have the Brita pitcher water filter. Every 2 months, I pay $10 to replace the filter. Do you know how much money I'm saving by doing this (to use as drinking water for the aluminum water bottle) as opposed to buying bottled water? A LOT. So not only do you look more fly with an aluminum water bottle but you are saving major bucks. Imagine what you could do with that money you've just saved.....

There's tons brands out there already. Sigg is a very popular one but they can be pricey. I've seen cool designed ones at Old Navy. They were going for $5 when I was last in there. Your Wal-Mart and Target should carry them as well in their fitness section.

So funny! I was at the supermarket yesterday holding this exact filter in my hands weighing its merits against a lesser priced version. I came home and told my husband that come next week when I grocery shop, we're switching to a filter and aluminum bottles. I also considered putting a filter directly on my facet (instead of the bottle in the fridge method). Still debating.

The pitcher's coo but if I had to do it over again, I would have bought the filter for the faucet. I have a small fridge so the pitcher takes up some space.

I bought mine today! I also wanted to get the water jar, but I'll drive to Wegman's and get one next week. Thanks for the post.
