Product Review: Kinky Curly Knot Today Natural Leave In/Detangler

I just recently got around to trying out this popular leave in. I didn't purchase this; I got it from a product swap (blog post on the beauty of product swaps in the near future!) with my curlfriend and accomplice in adventures, Kat: www.twitter.com/katsreality. I've tried this product in different ways with a very good results. You can use this product as a detangler or as a leave in. Before I gave up rinse out conditioners, I used it like that to detangle with. If you are familiar with my old hair care regimen, then you know that I used to detangle and condition my hair before I washed it (I now detangle after I've washed it. Post on my new hair regimen soon.). This leave in/detangler has an opaque, clear color, cream-gel consistency and great slip for detangling. This is not the popular way to use it though.

Most naturals use it as a leave in (and seal with an oil over top) which is the second way I tried it and the only way I use it now since I don't use rinse out conditioners anymore. It leaves my hair feeling so soft and moisturized every time I air dry my hair with it. I now understand the craze over this product. The scent is light and doesn't linger so those sensitive to fragrances won't be bothered by the smell of this.

While it is a good product and I would glady recommend it to others, I am not sure that I will purchase it frequently once this bottle runs out. I know of a lot of good leave ins/hair moisturizers that provide the same effect and are cheaper is why. Maybe I will occasionally buy it though to support what Shelley Davis, the creator and owner of Kinky Curly: http://www.kinky-curly.com/, is doing. I truly enjoy buying products and services made for us and by us.

I love this conditioner, but I agree with you about the price. I try to make it last and last and last! Right now I'm looking into using a shea butter mix as a "moisturizer" on damp hair. I'm hoping it works, so I can transition to only using shampoo and a butter mixed with oils.

I looove Kinky Curly Knot Today. In the instances that I don't feel like getting in the shower and detangling this works great for detangling on damp hair spritzed with water.

Nice review.
