Product Review: Giovanni Smooth as Silk Deep Moisture Conditioner

Remember when I was telling you all that I was deciding if I should use a leave in conditioner again (If not, Click Here to see what I'm talking about)? I decided I wanted to use a leave in b/c my hair is responding well to creamy products (it stays super soft (which means less tangling for me) till my next wash). I said I was interested in trying Aubrey Honeysuckle Rose Conditioner or Oyin Handmade Honey Hemp Conditioner but decided to go with neither and try this one instead.

I originally went to my nearest Rite Aid in search of their Direct Leave In Conditioner but they didn't have it in stock. I picked up this conditioner, read the ingredients and decided that it would make a good leave in and that's how I would use it. I tried it out last week and I'm in luv with the results. It left my hair so incredibly soft.

It has an airy citrus scent and the consistency is a gel cream consistency. It could be a lil thicker but it's ok. I still like it b/c it's not watery/runny. I only needed to use a small amount, a pea size, on each section of my damp hair (another thing I've learned about my hair now that it's getting longer, I get better braid out results when I do them on damp hair and also b/c it dries faster overnight). I then sealed with grapeseed oil (I'm sooo diggin this oil. It's so light, my hair absorbs it so it doesn't build up like crazy, and it never seems to leave my hair greasy! Score!) and braided for a braid out. The results the next day were really nice. My hair felt incredibly soft, light and fluffy. I had a really good hair day! It's 4 days later and my hair is still incredibly soft, light and fluffy. I have a feeling it will stay this way till I wash my hair again in a few days.

I definitely am liking this product big time and would consider re-buying.

Next up ladies, I'll be sharing some of your WL Hair Challenge starting pics. :D I'm so excited that you all are partaking into this journey.

Leave-In is a must round my crib. I use the Giovanni Leave-in (which is pretty creamy btw). The price point is perfect ($8) AND it's available at Tarjay (no s&h). Whut Whut...

I use Smooth as Silk regularly but I haven't tried it as a leave-in. I also find that I'm having to try different techniques and products as my hair grows.

I love this condish, and use the shampoo and leave-in as well. The leave-in is a staple for me and will probably remain until further notice =)

I used the Smooth As Silk (its so thick and creamy) to cowash and applied the Direct Leave In this morning. My hair is sooo soft and moisturized. I love both products! I've learned that I have to use the Leave In on soaking wet hair for it to work for me...

I LOVE me some SAS! It's a great multi-use product. I use it as a co-wash and a detangler, (it has great slip!) Then I mix some jojoba oil with it and use it as a deep conditioner. And THEN I use it as a leave-in sometimes under gel before I twist.
