Mini Haul!!!

I did a haul after all! LOL. Today on my lunch break I went to Beauty 35 (a BSS, beauty supply store, on 35th St. & 8th Ave. NYC) and bought:

1) NYX e/s trio (tropical/yellow/lime green)
2) a golden yellow e/s single (can't remember the company-a cheapo but gonna try it!)
3) Nika pink n purple e/s duo
4) NYX e/s single: Copper

The grand total.....Drum roll please..... $15. =) (I was tempted to buy more but I remembered that I'm going to do another haul at MAC in 2 weeks when their Cool Heat collection launches. The picture to the left are the eye shadows and I want all of them!!! )I will be sure to post pics of my purchases today on Monday.

I went to Sephora as well and almost bought some of their jumbo eye shadow pencils but said I'd wait. They have a couple colors that I want but I want to hit up that Dollar Store and see if they have the colors I want because they are cheaper. LOL. Love Sephora but I'd rather drop money on their bigger ticket items, like my $30 Ole Henriksen vitamin plus mattifying face moisturizer. =/ It's pricey but the ish works! =)

Eye Make Up Looks

Different eye make up looks to try and draw inspiration from.

Homemade Face Mask Recipes

This website has some great recipes for creating your own face masks and a lot of the ingredients you can find in your kitchen right now! I love how it breaks the recipes down by your skin type.

Here's the one I'm going to try since I have oily skin:

Clay masks help neutralize skin. You can pick up clay from any health-food store.

• A basic fuller's earth clay (if skin is sensitive, French green clay is a good option)
• 1 tsp honey
• water (for a richer mask, substitute half-and-half)
• your favorite essential oil

I find it's best to mix 2 parts water (or half and half) to 1 part clay, mixing in a bit of honey.
Add more water (or cream) if clay is too dry.
Add a few drops of the essential oil.
Keep mask on for 15 minutes.
Rinse off with a steaming washcloth (I like to steam my washcloths with a couple drops of the essential oils in the microwave, but make sure washcloth is not too hot).
Tip: This recipe works for dry or normal skin too. Add another tablespoon of honey and add a few drops of essential oils for your skin type.

It's cheaper, healthier, has ingredients that you can pronounce and spell w/o the assistance of a chemist, and GREEN! You GREEN girl! ;)

Pin Curls Hairstyle

Yay! I successfully posted a YouTube video! Here's a hairstyle I want to try very, very soon! I love pin curl hairstyles!

GREEN Beauty: J/A/S/O/N Sea Kelp Moisturizing Shampoo

In an effort to live more GREEN, I'm going to try to post lots of GREEN ways to beautify. I started by posting some homemade suar scrub recipes that are sure to beautify the skin and keep out the preservatives that are unhealthy for your body and not earth friendly. Healthy body, healthy earth. =)

Next, GREEN hair care products to try. I already use one. My shampoo by J/A/S/O/N: J/A/S/O/N Sea Kelp Hair Moisturizing shampoo. It's biodegradeable, lauryl/laureth sulfate free, phosphate free, and are not tested on animals. And it works FABULOUS. If ya don't know, now ya know!

Homemade Sugar Scrub Recipes

Want skin that GLOWS this summer but don't have or want to spend the sometimes massive dollars on commercial products? Try making your own sugar scrub. I just used up the last of my store bought sugar scrub and from now on, I'm going to start making my own. Not only is it cheaper but it's healthier; sans the dreaded preservatives! I'm going to try this recipe:

* 1 cup brown sugar
* 1/2 cup sweet almond oil
* a few drops of essential oil or fragrance body oil of choice
* some honey (this is optional but honey has loads of moisturizing properties so why not?)
* container to put it in (an old container or tupperware will do)

Mix together the oils and honey in your container. Add the brown sugar and mix it up. Viola! Note that you can tweek the consistency to your liking. So some like more oil than sugar and some like more sugar than oil. Play around with the proportions till you find the consistency that you like.

Here's another sugar scrub recipe:

* 1 cup of sugar
* 1/2 cup to 1 cup of extra virgin olive oil
* lemon juice (optional)
* few drops of essential oil or body fragrance oil (optional)

Instructions are the same as the brown sugar scrub.

I might try and make mine tonight. I'll post my results soon! And these are just some of the basic and very easy recipes. There are tons of other great recipes out there on the web. So go google them and try them out! If you know any other good recipes that work great for you, pleae share!

The "Estelle" Cut

Another flyy cut, worn by UK singer/rap artist Estelle (Go out and buy her album!), out to pursuade one to cut, the "Estelle cut". It is fierce, bangin, funky fresh, bananas, fresh to def, hot; that FIYAH.

Happy Friday! And Happy Memorial Day Weekend! I am really in the mood to do a make up haul! At.... a DOLLAR STORE. LOL. You heard me correct. The one I want to go to has Jordana jumbo e/s crayons for 99 cents each! (I already love Jordana retractable eye and lip liners b/c they are cheap and they work.) So I want to get some more colors. I already have one in a frosty white color which I like to put on my inside waterline to brighten my eyes more. The e/s crayons really make your e/s pop more when you use them as a base I've learned from others. Once I get my camera working again, I will start posting pics of different looks that I like to do. Fauryn78 on YouTube has this tutorial on how to do a yellow eye and I soo want to do it soon. Just gotta find the right event to sport it to.

The "Rihanna" Cut

Is anyone else tempted to get the bevelled bob aka the "Rihanna cut" that Rihanna sported back in 2007? I've been fighting the urge for a minute since she came out on the scene with it. I actually had this hair cut back in high school,in '99 (yowsa!). I loved it. Now my hair is on its way to being half way down my back. LOL. has pics that soo make me wanna say STOP! Cutting time!

Heatherette Trio 2 Look To Try

Want to try out this make up look. I know a NYX e/s trio, can't think of the name right now though, that I could use instead of this MAC Heatherette trio since they are practically sold out in most places in Nyc. =(

Want to try this yellow eye for the summer (This is not from MAC Heatherette collection):

Make Up Wish List as of May 20, 2008
