Skin that GLOWS-the easy way

Who knew skin care could be this easy? Super duper easy, cheap, and GREEN, recipe for better skin.

I like to do this scrub one to two times a week. I scrub after I've cleansed my face with Dr. Bronner's magic soap (did a product review on this) or African black soap (review on this coming soon). It keeps my skin soft, healthy and glowing. This scrub is not limited to just your face, try it on your body too! I'm telling you, your skin will feel HEAVENLY and love you long time! It's easy, go on and give it a try!

NOTE: In order for it to be completely GREEN, use sugar or brown sugar that states it's ORGANIC and use 100% pure oils. Oils like Hot Six Oil or Wonder 8 oil, for example, have silicones and other ingredients that aren't oils added to them and aint nothin GREEN about that! You can use those kinds of oils if you like but just be aware your recipe won't be GREEN if you do. Thanks!

Transition Month #4 (thru 6): Braided Up!

So I got micro, braids a couple weeks ago b/c I couldn't keep my hands out of my new growth. LOL. And after being hooked on various ladies' YouTube accounts where they did the BC early in the game, I was getting the urge the BC so I got braids to give myself and my hair a break. They are easy and fun. I have decided to do the rest of my transition with braids. I moisturize my hair nightly with this product:

It provides great moisture for my hair but not only that, it has many ingredients that stimulate/promote (hair) growth like peppermint oil, nettle, rosemary extract, coltsfoot, just to name a few. I moisturize my scalp and braids with this moisturizer nightly (before bed), but sometimes in the morning and evening. I sleep with a du-rag scarf tied around my head and put my braids up in a ponytail. Wake up in the morning, take my hair down, (moisturize if I feel like it,) style my hair as I desire and go. That's it! I will have another post specifically for caring for braids including washing them and how often to re-do them.

More Kurly Girls!!!!

I'm loving all this inspiration and all these gorgeous natural heads. Check out these 2 ladies gorgeous manes.

Don't you just love her hair in this vid? Look at that volume! It looks like a braid out.

I like Ford Model, Tamara's, hair too:

Make it Raine

Found some more natural hair inspiration. I just love her hair. This is Raine from the group Concrete Rose. They were competing on MTV's new contest show Top Pop Group. (They just got sent home this week but big ups ladies. Keep doing your thang.)

I luv her hair b/c it's funky and stylish. And I love the color on her. I really just love the volume; I love big, curly hair! When I see pics like these, it gets me excited all over again that I'm transitioning to get to this.

Moisturizing Hair Spritz: WHAT'S IN YOUR SPRAY BOTTLE?

I'll tell you what's in mine and has moisturized my hair like no otha! This spritz is great for natural, texlaxed, relaxed, and transitioning ladies as well as for ladies looking to stretch their relaxers longer. I call it my Mega Moisturizer Mix. I it as a leave in as well as a daily moisturizer. As a leave in, I seal with castor oil. As a daily moisturizer, I seal with avocado oil. Great results! Here's the recipe:

Milan's Mega Moisturizer Mix:
* 1 part Vegetable Glycerin
* 3 parts Water (it can be distilled water or rose water if you like)
* 1 to 2 parts Aloe Vera Juice

Play with these ratios till you get it how you like just always make sure that you have at least 2 parts water to 1 part glycerin.

Shake to mix, spritz, seal with your oil of choice and you're good to go! If you don't know, now ya know. It will change your life. LOL. Give it a try!

Product Review: Dr. Bronners Magic Soap in Peppermint

I bought the 2oz size in Peppermint a few weeks ago to try it out b/c I have heard rave reviews about it. Well I agree with all the great things that have been said about it.

Let me start off by saying that it is a totally GREEN product! Meaning it is made with all natural ingredients, is bio-degradable, and is packaged in 100% post consumer recycled plastic bottles.

You can pronounce the name of the ingredients and know what they are. What I also like about this product is that it cleanses my skin but does't dry it out like other facial and skin cleansers do b/c they have harsh chemicals in them like sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate. In fact, it's so gentle, I can use it to cleanse my face! The peppermint oil in it gives that fresh, tingly, clean feeling that I love so much. After using it on my face and body, my skin feels revitalized and "ready to take on the world". A little goes a long way with this product and it's not expensive at all. My 2 fl oz size cost me abut $2 at my local BSS. This size is great for traveling as well. You purchase up to a gallon if you like. Once mine has run out, I'm going to get a bigger bottle to last me for a while. It also comes in other fragrances: Eucalyptus, Rose, Lavendar, Almond, Tea Tree, Citrus, and Baby Mild. What are you waiting for, go try it!

Ingredients (this is for the PEPPERMINT one): Water/Saponified Organic Coconut Oil/Organic Olive Oils (w/ Retained Glycerin)/Organic Hemp Oil/Organic Jojoba Oil/Organic Peppermint Oil/Mentha Arvensis Extract/Citric Acid/Vitamin E
